Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – Yes, and I accepted – 2 of 2 found this helpful – Tue, 16 Jun 2015

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Toronto, ON(took 65 days)
They are not good at keeping you informed, worst recruitment experience I've ever had. The process took so long and I never had any idea what was going on. If they had just kept me informed I wouldn't have minded that the process took so long.

Easy Interview – Overall Positive Experience – No – Sat, 27 Jun 2015

Interviewed Jun 2015
I contacted on LinkedIn the manager of Ubisoft Osaka after he announced the studio was looking for Game Designers. After sending him my resume on his request, I got a Skype interview the same week with a Game Designer, a Programmer and a Producer. We spoke, in English and Japanese, about my past experiences and aspirations. One week later, I got a second interview, with the manager himself. The interview went smoothly, and we talked about the studio and its projects. However, I was not offered a position at this time because of my lack of ability in Japanese (JLPT 3 minimum), without excluding any future opportunity if I improve this weakness.

Difficult Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Tue, 30 Jun 2015

Interviewed Mar 2015 in Montreuil, Ile-de-France(took 7 days)
I first had a phone interview with the campus manager. The interview lasted 1 hour and I was very much challenged on why I wanted the job, why I wanted to work in the industry and in Human Resources. He also tested my level of English (he began to speak English to me). After the phone interview we scheduled a physical interview with both the campus manager and my future manager. The interview lasted 2 hours, during the interview I was tested on my English written skills and on my ability to cope with HR matters (it was a case study). I got contacted on the phone the day after by the campus manager to tell me that I got the position.

Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, but I declined – Sun, 12 Jul 2015

Interviewed null -1(took 14 days)
Applied online through their system. They got back to me and sent me an artist for which they gave me 2 weeks to complete. Very realistic timeframe, just a normal prop to normal. Not difficult. I was asked to provide an art test. Describe typical asset workflow. Salary expectations? What did you work on exactly? Can you walk us through the breakdowns? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Do you see yourself as a HArdsurface or ORganic Artist?

Easy Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Wed, 15 Jul 2015

Interviewed null -1 in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul(took 2 days)
The interview was quick and to the point. I met with the studio head and the lead artist I would work with. They had very specific questions and where very open to answer me. The studio was small, and pool of working artists qualified was also small. Because I had previous experience in the area with advertising, the interview felt like a formality to get my introduced to the studio and to the people who wanted to work with me.

Interview Questions
They asked me if I was willing to make crunch when needed. Because it would be.

Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Sun, 19 Jul 2015

Interviewed Jun 2015 in Pune(took 1 days)
Interview process lasts almost a day but that's okay as there are four rounds. Finding bugs, essay writing, technical interview and HR interview are the 4 rounds. People who are sincere about gaming and have a knack for it are surely selected. Interview process takes place in batches where each batch can have between 5-7 candidates. There are times when the whole batch is simply rejected as they haven't performed well in one or the other round.

Interview Questions
What if you're not able to find issues/bugs in a project we have given to you? What should be done then?

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Montreal, QC(took 30 days)
The interview process was a very formal round. 1 Phone interview, 1 face to face interview with a HR counselor and 1 face to face interview with my future boss and the department director. 1 written quiz/life experience paper was also submitted between the 2 face to face interview. Not a lot of room for negotiation on salary and vacation. It more a take it or leave it.

Reasonable CV response time, no phone screening, interview with HR and technical interviewer were scheduled at once. It was a reeeeeeeaaaaally long technical interview covering mostly all areas of game programming. The questionnaire was unified for all Ubisoft studios. Interview with the project producer was scheduled the other day, it was simple personality check over the cup of coffee.

Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Sat, 26 Sep 2015

Interviewed May 2013 in Bucharest(took 21 days)
It was a 3 stage interview. First was to test how well can you recognise bugs; you had an hour to play a game with bugs and write down as many as you can find. The second part was an interview with a HR person; not a very big deal. The third part is an interview with a department leader and a team lead; this can be more demanding.

Interviewed Sep 2015(took 14 days)
Human resources called me up the day after I applied to ask me questions. After asking me a couple questions, she asked me if I had any questions for her. After I asked her questions, she thought of another question to ask me. She was very polite and graceful in dealing with me, especially because I was not expecting a phone call that soon after applying.
