Very Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Thu, 22 Oct 2015

Interviewed Jan 2012 in Paris
Very lengthy, took almost 3 months before an offer. Apparently the hiring manager was super busy during the whole process and it made things very difficult to know if you were still being considered. After submitting my home work, it took 2 months before any feedback came back.

I got response after 1 month of application. After that it just took 1 day for whole process to complete. The interviewers take CVs very seriously. For interns, they care more about technical skills rather than game development skills. If you already have game dev background, you can easily draw whole interview towards your projects only. If not from game dev background, then it will be focused mainly data structures, coding skills and algorithms. They will go through all the things written in CV in front of you and ask you at least a single question from each part of your CV.

Interview Questions
What do you know about virtual functions? Explain a scenario in which you will use it. (Then gave me a snippet regarding virtual functions and asked about its output.)

Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Wed, 2 Dec 2015

Interviewed Nov 2015 in Abu Dhabi(took 3 days)
I had a Skype interview with their HR manager. The interview was very brief (about 20 minutes) and the manager said in the very beginning that probably I am not a good fit for the role in question which was rather discouraging so I was trying my best to prove the opposite. However, she sounded rather disinterested and feedback was scarce. questions were generic. A waste of time for me. I think they didn't quite understand what they were looking for.

Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, but I declined – Fri, 18 Dec 2015

Interviewed Oct 2015 in Montreuil, Ile-de-France(took 60 days)

Very Difficult Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Sun, 20 Dec 2015

Interviewed May 2015 in Milan(took 54 days)
I got a phone call the same day of application online and got an interview the day next. Normal procedure questions about experience and a rough idea of what the ideal candidate will do for the project on this position. I got invited to do a skills test. After 3 or 4 days I recieved the test conformed by 3 exercises to deliver in 5 days. Details in the exercise were vague and quiet difficult to achieve in the amount of time given, even though I managed to do the 3 excercises. 30 days after delivery date I gave a phone call to ask for news but the selection process wasnt finished yet. on day 54 I received a rejection letter via email.

Easy Interview – Overall Positive Experience – No – Tue, 2 Feb 2016

Interviewed Mar 2015 in Montreal, QC(took 7 days)
Just an hour after applying for this position I already heard back from the recruiter via an email, asking me if I had some time for a quick phone conversation. After confirming my availability, he called me immediately. The conversation went very well, professional, very friendly, and light-hearted. It did not feel like an interrogation, a process he goes through 30 times a day, but a very personal experience. We set the date of the interview at the Montreal office, which was about a week after our conversation. His words were: “This gives you plenty of time to prepare”. Five stars to the recruiter! At my actual interview, I met with two ladies, the lead of the department and an analyst. We talked at great length, even going over the scheduled time to cover everything. They wanted me to walk through the process of some of my previous work, which I had prepared in a portfolio on my iPad. The questions very professional, and they also revealed the goal of the position. It was a very pleasant experience from beginning to end. Unfortunately, the position was canceled at Ubisoft.

Interview Questions
After explaining to me what I would be working on, the asked me what some of the first actions would be to get this project going.

Average Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – No – Sun, 6 Mar 2016

Interviewed Jan 2016 in Montreuil, Ile-de-France

Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Sun, 20 Mar 2016

Interviewed Jul 2015 in Pune(took 30 days)
There was a 3 round process of interview, In first round they asked me general questions and some how techinical knowledge. It was telephonic round and it was very normal. 2nd Round was purely technical interview round. I attended by online skype video (I was not in same city). It took 1 hour to complete. 3rd roud was again telephonic and final selection round. In 3rd round, generally they were try to negotiate the expected salary and explained their terms, policy etc.. They were try to check either we are agree with their policy or not. But after all, it was cool experienced.

Interview Questions
There was 1 hour interview. And interview questions were divided into 4 parts like below: 1) 1st 15 min. they asked me general questions of php functions and bit HTML, Javascripts, CSS Mostly they asked me about php arrays, curl, and general HTML5 related questions. 2) 2nd 15 min. they asked me about OOP, and project architecture mechanism like How we have built the project in our previous company? What kind of classes and functions used for what reason? etc.. 3) 3rd 15 min. they asked me about Database Mysql, NoSQL (Caching) system 4) 4th and last 15 min. they asked me some real problem case, They were trying to check how we can handle the situation in particular case. For example suddenly DB becomes very huge records with 1 million records then how we can manage? Suddenly in single day 100,000 users get registered in our site.. Then what steps we need to do for better quality of speed of site. So in this way my interview was arranged.

Technical interview given by online test. The face to face discussion included a technical part where we discussed about the technologies I worked with, the available projects in the company and the teams. Second was a classic HR interview about motivation, limits, expectancies and challenges.

Online application, followed by interview. They took a really long time to get back to me with the result, almost 6 weeks. The online portal itself was overhauled a week after my application, and there was no way for me to access my application profile or details after that. I had almost given up on getting any response.

Interviewed Apr 2012 in Montreal, QC(took 18 days)
Very straightforward questions, testing basic design experience but mostly probing my attitude and work habits/style. What games have I worked on, what went well or badly about those projects, etc. I explained a bit about past projects from a tools and workflow perspective, and talked about what aspects of my work I had most enjoyed or was most proud of on those projects. It felt like they were testing me mostly as a "culture-fit" rather than inquiring as to my design knowledge, which I think was okay for the reasonably generic role they were hiring me for. They wanted to know if I was right for their team, more than they wanted to know if I was an especially clever or talented designer.
