Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – Yes, but I declined – Tue, 10 May 2016

Interviewed Apr 2016 in Montreal, QC(took 3 days)
I applied for a generalist programmer position, I got a call with a recruiter who then sent me a Node.js test (really specific questions). Really weird. Then I had a group call with 4 people, with varied technical questions. No code. Then they made me an offer, with a short reflection delay (5 days). I finally nicely told them I would not accept the offer at that salary, and would also need few more days to think about other aspects if my salary requirements were met. I have been told in a very cold way, that the offer was final and was not meant to be a comparison for other offers. I genuinely would have considered that offer if they made an effort on the salary, I don't understand this reaction. Very rude and clumsy.

Interviewed May 2016 in Halifax, NS(took 20 days)
Both interviews were over Skype. The first one is with HR and second is with a tech guy. The experience was pleasant, no hard questions. I found the the tech guy had a complete different perspective and understanding of user testing from what i envisioned, so the communication did not go well. I also did not anticipate the questions that I encounter as I do not have that kind of an direct experience. I think there's certainly element of luck involved in terms of whether the person interviewing you had a good rapport with you and had a similar mindset.

Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Tue, 21 Jun 2016

Interviewed Jun 2016 in San Francisco, CA(took 14 days)
There was a phone screen/short interview with one of the directors of the company and then they asked me to come in for a series of 1:1 interviews with different people from the company (4 people total). I had a great time interviewing with them and afterwards they mentioned they would get back to me within a week but I never heard back from them! I even emailed them asking for a follow-up about the decision two weeks after I interviewed and they still never responded. If you thought I was qualified for the position and asked me to come interview, the least you could do was follow up!

Interview Questions

Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Wed, 2 Dec 2015

Interviewed Nov 2,015 in Abu Dhabi (took 3 days)
I had a Skype interview with their HR manager. The interview was very brief (about 20 minutes) and the manager said in the very beginning that probably I am not a good fit for the role in question which was rather discouraging so I was trying my best to prove the opposite. However, she sounded rather disinterested and feedback was scarce. questions were generic. A waste of time for me. I think they didn't quite understand what they were looking for.
